About Us
Highlands Training Solution’s primary objective is being passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals and are dedicated to delivering high-quality, customised training programs that are tailored to their specific needs.
Our Administration Team
Ethné Drew is CEO of Highlands Training Solutions. She has vast experience in operating and managing Highlands First Aid since it’s inception. Ethné communicates daily with clients needing to complete first aid courses. The success of Highlands First Aid led to a natural progression to setting up an RTO that would complement the teaching side of the business.
Jasper Darby is our Training Manager and the RTO Administrator. He has been working for Highlands First Aid assisting with the day-to-day operations of the business. He organises the running of all the first aid courses as well as dealing with clients who are attending courses. In addition to this he also assists with all the financial administration. His meticulous attention to detail is an asset for a successful RTO.
Our Training Team
Kiaran Drew is our head trainer. His background is both in Rescue with over 20 years’ experience and as a Paramedic with Ambulance Service of NSW. Since then he has been our trainer for Highlands First Aid and also oversees our team of Paramedics and First Responders in the field of Event First Aid Coverage.
Our team of trainers are current practicing and emergency nurses who regularly perform these skills in emergency situations. Trainers and Assessors will be required to meet specific competency requirements to deliver training and assessment services. We provide for the continued professional development of staff members. This includes ensuring that staff maintains the currency of their knowledge and skills relevant to the training and assessment being delivered or the role they perform.
Our Goal
Our goal is to teach you in a fun way, so you leave the course empowered to provide first aid to family, work colleagues, or anybody that requires medical assistance.
Our Values
Quality committed
Because our instructors are AHPRA registered clinicians, they are required to complete Continued Professional Development every year. This ensures that all our instructors are clinically up to date with the latest medical intervention techniques.
Learner centred
Our goal is to train our students in a fun relaxed environment. As registered medical practitioners, we understand how the different body systems work. This enables us to be able to explain first aid in a simple to understand way.
Industry engagement
All Highlands First Aid trainers still engage in providing paramedical, and medical support for events as diverse as concerts, rodeos, motor cross, speedway, multiple horse, and sporting events. You can be assured your trainer is still currently practising what they teach.
Fun
At HFA, we believe that learning should be fun and not laborious. We understand that there is a serious side to first aid, but if you learn in a fun way, you will have a better grasp of what you are learning.
Safe
A safe learning setting, ensuring safe outcomes, so you can provide a safe work or home environment.
Positivity
Our goal is to teach you in a positive way, empowering you to feel confident that if required, you can apply your learnt fist aid skills with confidence.
Why Learn With Us
First aid doesn’t have to be complicated. We have a passion for teaching in a way that makes first aid easy to understand.
Utilising the experience gained from years of hands-on work in Emergency Services, we don’t just “read the Book, then teach the course”, we teach First Aid from a Paramedics perspective, who has just arrived at a 000 emergency, or a nurse in the emergency department.
